Surgical co-management is a team-based approach to eye care, where our optometrist, Dr. Liza Dimarana, and an ophthalmologist work together to ensure the best outcome for your surgery.

LASIK Co-Management in Pico Rivera  

LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is among the most popular and effective vision correction procedures. It reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, reducing or even eliminating the need for glasses or contact lenses.

Who is a Good Candidate for LASIK?

You may be a strong candidate for LASIK if you:  

  • Are at least 21 years old  
  • Have a stable prescription for at least a year   
  • Have healthy eyes with no eye diseases, infections, or severe dry eye  
  • Have a prescription within treatable ranges  
  • Have thick enough corneas to reshape your  
  • Are in good overall health and not pregnant  
  • Have realistic expectations about the outcome of the procedure  

Who Might Not Be a Candidate?  

LASIK may not be the best option if you have thin corneas, unstable vision, severe dry eye, or certain medical conditions. However, other laser procedures like PRK or implantable contact lenses (ICLs) could be a better fit. 

Cataract Co-Management in Pico Rivera

Cataracts are a part of aging, causing the eye’s natural lens to become cloudy, resulting in blurry vision, glare, difficulty seeing at night, and faded colors. Cataract surgery removes this cloudy lens and replaces it with a clear artificial lens (called an intraocular lens), restoring sharp vision.
